CE Marking

What is CE marking?

CE marking indicates that a product conforms to specific European technical standards known as harmonised European Norms (‘hEN’). It enables a product to be placed legally on the market in any European member state. The CE marking symbol is placed on either the product or the documentation accompanying the product.

Why is it necessary?

From 1st July 2013, the Construction Products Regulation 2011 (CPR) will replace the Construction Products Directive (CPD).

An effect of this change is that it will become mandatory in the EU and the UK for manufacturers of construction products to apply CE marking to any of their products which are covered by a hEN.

The most significant implication is that CE marking will become a legal requirement from 1st July 2013 for the complete glazed products supplied.

CE Marking regulations will be in force from the 1st July 2013. Iceni Windows products carry CE marking, demonstrating manufacturing consistency via a Factory Production Control (FPC) system and progressing through the required Initial Type Testing (ITT) to confirm the level of performance, production of the written Declaration of Performance (DoP) using REHAU’s own template and final supply of the label.

We are committed to offering our customers the best value for money and have chosen to adopt the BFRC scheme for Window Energy Ratings.  We currently hold licences covering our Rehau Total 70 and AluK products with BFRC. Customers will be able to have their own name on the label without having to incur a fee.  This is a more flexible scheme and will enable Iceni Windows customers to promote an energy rated product.
